Over the top and out of control...
and all she ever said was: "Ain't life beautiful?"
What do you do when the doctor whispers into your nine–year–old ear that by the time you're 20 you'll be confronting the same visions that haunted your mother? For Storm Large (Portland rock legend and star of last season's Cabaret), answering that question has been a lifelong journey. This world premiere production weaves music and story into a ride through the darkest alleys and brightest vistas faced by the human mind. As hard as nails, as fragile as a raindrop, and as sexy as your most unrepeatable dreams – Crazy Enough will be an event that lingers long into the night.
The show runs two hours and 15 minutes, including one 20 minute intermission; parental advisory for those under 18; strong sexual content and explicit language.
The Oregonian [Review 26 Apr 2009] — In a show that's part cabaret, part confessional and part comedy, Large delivers... not only a huge supple voice but plenty of attitude and dirty disclosures, too... mixing her past with pithy comments and a rich slate of deeply personal (and often surprisingly gentle) songs, Large reveals the hopes against odds of an unprepared girl and the fears of a woman using bravado to hide the human flailing inside... ![]()
PDX Pipeline [Review 26 Apr 2009] — One week of down and dirty, hardscrabble rehearsals later, we're ready to show you the razor's edge of new American playwriting. A curtain raiser precedes most readings, compliments of our Promising Playwrights (local high school playwrights who come out of our Visions & Voices program).

Admission is free, but in order to maintain a high level of quality, attendance for each Lab is very limited and is determined by random lottery.
Mike Jones [PCS Blog comment] — All Portland-area theater companies and audiences are invited to this popular event. Pick up season brochures, chat with theater folk new and familiar, and drop your name in the raffle jar for the numerous ticket giveaways. And while you're at it, be sure to visit...

Let me start off by saying, I'm not embarrassed to say that Adam Lambert is my American Idol. High–brow theatre folk and rock purists, feel free to throw your rotten tomatoes at me now. If you've watched any of the season (Which you must have, at least once, since they don't get those high ratings if every single one of you is only watching OPB) you have to admit that Adam is quite the showstopper. And there's really nothing I like more than a guy in eyeliner who can command the stage.
